Certificate of Fitness (C-14)

In New York City, whenever a laboratory is in operation, a C-14 holder must be present. This is a Fire Department of New York requirement. There are two options for certification, as listed below along with some frequently asked questions. Contact Environmental Health and Safety for additional information.

Advanced Degree, or Undergraduate Degree Plus Two Years of Work Experience (Work Experience Must be Post-Undergraduate Degree)

Instructions, forms, study materials and a sample test are included. Please note, the Fire Department reserves all rights to reject a candidate based on their qualifications.

Undergraduate Degree and Less than Two Years Experience
