Environmental Health and Safety has established safety training programs for service departments at Weill Cornell Medicine that have been customized to address the specific job hazards associated with their work activities. Safety training for service department staff includes all regulatory required training and programs designed to reduce accidents and injuries. EHS has established programs for the following service departments:
- Capital Planning
- Duplicating
- Facilities Management and Campus Operations
- Gross Anatomy
- Housekeeping
- Information Technology Services
- Research Animal Resource Center
- Shipping and Receiving
Training Frequency
EHS coordinates and provides annual safety training for these service departments. New-hire employees may receive EHS clinical and general safety training to satisfy OSHA bloodborne pathogen and hazard communication of chemical safety training requirements, until such time as the next service department annual safety training is provided.
