Chemical Waste Satellite Accumulation Area Signs

EHS Chemical Waste Satellite Accumulation Area Poster

All Satellite Accumulation Areas* must be designated as such with a Chemical Waste Satellite Accumulation Area sign provided by Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). Signs should be posted in the area of waste accumulation to designate that area as such (see below for an example of a properly-designated area). If a color printer is available, PDF icon copies may be printed and posted. Otherwise, contact EHS to receive a copy of the sign or for additional assistance.

*A Satellite Accumulation Area (SAA) is a designated area within the laboratory or point of generation of hazardous chemical waste which stores the waste until it is sent to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). This area can be a small section of a chemical hood, benchtop, cabinet or any combination depending on storage requirements. Certain requirements must be met to maintain this designation (see the sign for details).
