Core Online Fire Safety Training for All Visitors and Volunteers
Annual Hospital Training (AHT)
Visitors and volunteers working in a clinical area must complete AHT. If a visitor or volunteer has completed similar safety-based training at their home institution, a visitor safety training form must be completed and submitted. Other specialized training may need to be completed (see below).
Laboratory Safety Training
Visitors and volunteers working in a laboratory must complete laboratory safety training. If a visitor or volunteer has completed similar safety-based training at their home institution, a visitor safety training form must be completed and submitted. Other specialized training may need to be completed (see below). If the visitor or volunteer is only working for a short period of time, and is unable to attend EHS instructor-led laboratory safety training, the online introduction to lab safety training may be completed using the following steps:
- Review the WCM Exposure and Spill Response Guide.
- Complete the online initial laboratory safety training available within the Weill Training Management System.
- Include a copy of a certificate of completion with your volunteer/visitor package submitted to Human Resources.
- Retain for your records, and have available for inspection, a copy of the certificate of completion.
- Work under the direct supervision of a laboratory principal investigator or senior researcher who is familiar with WCMC laboratory safety and waste management practices.
